Kathy Haller and Richard Calliham were both raised in Colby and graduated from CHS. They farmed in Colby all their lives and have contributed greatly to the community. They raised their children in Colby, also graduates of CHS. Their son, Richard continues to farm alongside his dad and also raised his family in Colby.
As husband and wife they were awarded the Farm Bureau “State Farm Family Award”. They were also recognized with the Master Farmer Award. Richard has served on the Extension Council and is a member and contributor to the Colby JC’s Club. He is on the State Board of Young Farmers and Ranchers.
Kathy has served as treasurer for the Master Farmers. Kathy’s additional contributions are: Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout treasurer, Thomas County Historical Society president, Methodist Women’s Club president, Methodist Staff Parish member, Nursing home activity volunteer, Master Gardener, numerous church projects, dinners, and activities.
