  Charles Edward Adams, born in Colby, Ks on Oct.17, 1945. He attended Colby schools graduating with the class of 1963. He went on to Fort Hays State College, graduating in 1967.

  Charley served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years retiring as a Lt. Col. in 1987. He graduated from pilot training school as an outstanding graduate. While in the service he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight during the Viet Nam war, January 17, 1970.

  Charley went on to fly for Pan American airlines until they went out of business. He then used his chemistry degree and worked for the state of Florida as a Health Physicist and Environmental Manager of the Bureau of Radiation Control, serving the state of Florida and parts of Alabama and Georgia. Following 911 he also works with Homeland Security for radiation disaster responses.

  In his personal life Charley was a charter member of Peace United Methodist church, Orlando Florida. Their first organizational meeting was held in his home. He served his church as Chair of Trustees, lay leader and held positions on the finance committee and several other committees. This church has grown to over 600 members.

  Charles also volunteered as a financial counselor for Crown Ministries of Orlando, Fl. serving Orlando and the surrounding communities for a number of years.
