Cameron Epard graduated from Colby High School in 1987.  He attended Colby Community College for two years before graduating from Kansas State University in 1995 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.  In 2008, he received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Cameron spent most of his career in the power generation industry working at Black and Veatch, Duke Energy, and Peoples Energy.  In 2006, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start Airstream Energy with his brother, Kenton.  Airstream Energy develops wind projects to produce clean energy and bring sustainable economic development to agricultural communities.  Several Airstream projects are now operating and providing clean energy and economic benefits to many farming families and their communities.

The highlight of Airstream's efforts are the Solomon Forks and East Fork wind projects located south of Colby.  Combined, the two projects represent one of the largest wind installations in the Midwest.  They make significant and reoccurring annual payments to the Thomas County government, Colby Public Schools, Brewster Public Schools, Golden Plains School District, and Colby Community College.  Furthermore, over 50 landowner families receive annual payments in return for allowing wind turbines on their land in Thomas County.  These payments benefit many in Thomas County and bring a powerful boost to the local school systems.

Cameron is married to Jennifer Epard and is blessed with two children, Lauren and Dax.  He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, but spends several months a year in Colby working with his parents, Richard and Neva, on the Epard family farm south of Colby.
